On the other hand, I've been slowly going through a batch of Samichlaus 1992 (the Hürlimann original) over the past 10 years and only now, at 16 years old, is it really properly drinkable - though now it's come right, it's a lovely beer, complex and rich, and tastes as if it's got enough legs to last in good fettle for another five or six years yet. I bought a bottle of Orval which was produced in April 2008 and left it at my parents place to wait for the first time I return to Europe from the US - probably no earlier than 2011. Also bought a bottle of the Hardy's 2008 which will have to deal with moving over the Pond and then several years of maturing as I plan to only drink it on the birth of our first kid - whenever that will be.
